Deal to help cut F1 emissions

Two British companies have made a deal which could help to cut the emissions of F1 cars. The two companies plan to use energy produced asa car brakes from high speed to power acceleration and overtaking. The two companies involved are Toro trak, an automotive technology company and Xtrac, a car transmissions manufacturer. The principle is as follows - kinetic energy will be gathered underbraking and stored. The energy can then be turned on by a driver whenever required and improve acceleration. The system could be tested soon and implemented as early as 2009 when new rules in F1 come into effect to reduce the sport's environmentalimpact.
